Music is a traditional and essential part of the life and liturgy of this church. A comprehensive music program is available to all age groups. Participants lead worship with music from our variety of available groups.
St. Cecilia Choir
The St. Cecilia Choir is the adult choir of the church which leads worship at the 10:45 a.m. service September through May. There are approximately 20 singers on the role who rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. for one hour.The choir sings traditional music that is often accompanied by organ but also with handbells and our brass ensemble. The choir reaches out to the community at Christmas by caroling at various retirement facilities.
St. John's Handbell Choir
Established in February 2006, our handbell choir is comprised of eight ringers using two octaves of Malmark handbells.Rehearsals are at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings for one hour. The choir plays at the 10:45 a.m. service providing preludes, offertories and postludes. The choir also accompanies hymns and provides other music for worship.
St. John's Brass
St. John's Brass is comprised of members of the church. We have a full complement of players which creates a brass quintet including trumpets, French horn, trombones and bass trombone. The group is under the direction of Lynn Middlebrook and leads worship by providing service music and accompanying hymns.
