All are welcome to St. John’s on All Saints’ Sunday, November 6, for our 2016 Harvest Festival and Ingathering. All members, visitors, and guests will celebrate together in a joint bilingual liturgy at 10am that day. Our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Whayne Hougland will be the celebrant and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Williams will be a special guest preacher. A baptismal Sunday, it will also be the baptism of our rector’s baby girl—along with any other baptismal candidates that register at Parish Office! And, with it being Ingathering Sunday, before we come to the altar for the Great Thanksgiving, each household will be invited to carry their pledge of support to our ministry up to the altar.
Following the Eucharist, we’ll have our traditional Harvest Festival Pig Roast! This year, it will be a fully catered event—no need to bring a pot-luck dish to pass—and will include live music. Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, and their desire to express their gratitude for all the ministries of St. John’s, the cost will be just $5 per person (maximum of $10 per family!). If you’d like, you may also bring a non-alcoholic beverage or wine to share.
