Mission Statement
We are a diverse Christian community following Jesus' teaching through
liturgical worship, education and outreach.
DIVERSITY is a major strength of our faith community here at St. John's Episcopal Church in Grand Haven. While some of our members are "Cradle Episcopalians" who grew up as Episcopalians, most of us started out in other churches, both Catholic and Protestant. We are young families with children, people in mid-life, Empty Nesters, and Seniors. We are single and married. We have different interests. We are theologically liberal and conservative. But we are alike in that we bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our task of serving as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
WORSHIP binds us together. Each Sunday we celebrate Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) and are nourished with the Body and Blood of Christ for the work we have been given. EDUCATION for both young people and adults builds us up in faith. As we study the Bible--God's Word--the Lord speaks to us and leads us forward. OUTREACH is the means by which we share the work of Christ with countless Christians in our community, across the nation, and around the world. To respond to those in need is both our joy and our privilege.
If you are seeking a faith community where you can make a difference, we invite you to visit us any Sunday!
